PROJECT UPDATE:

A suite of issues papers has been prepared relating to the open space issues in Wyndham and are currently with Wyndham City Council for consideration.

About

Wyndham City Council has engaged @leisure and Hansen Partnership consultants to prepare an Open Space Strategy. This Strategy is about planning to ensure parks, outdoor recreation and sports areas meet the needs of Wyndham residents both now and in the future. It will provide a policy with actions to address current issues and ensure future planning delivers parks and sports reserves that meet future needs. The Strategy will help Council:
  • Acquire adequate quantities of open space for sport, recreation and other functions
  • Ensure open space is fit for its purpose
  • Improve the quality, usefulness and accessibility of open space and promote higher levels of participation
  • Map all existing and proposed / preferred future open space

The project will culminate in a policy, action plan and an amendment to the Wyndham Planning Scheme.
